Fire Retardants & Related Products

When applied to various flammable items, these products help to prevent the items from catching fire. In some cases, the retardant coats the product to act as a heat or flame barrier. However, in most cases it chemically bonds to the treated material to make the material self-extinguishing, i.e., the material will carry a flame while the flame is applied, but as soon as the flame is removed, the material stops burning.

Fiber Wizard™

Fire retardant for all unsealed natural fiber materials. May be applied by spraying, dipping, soaking, etc. It increases the fire safety of materials by increasing the temperature required for ignition and reducing the rate of heat release after ignition.

Fiber Wizard is non-toxic and non-hazardous. Coat wooden structures before painting, treat costume fabrics and more. Water soluble, but don not dilute to use. Coverage is 250 - 450 square feet per gallon, depending on method of application. This product has received a New York City Certificate of Approval from the Bureau of Fire Prevention.

The actual shipping cost will be charged when gallons are purchased in case quantities due to the higher shipping weight. The average cost to ship one case of fluid is approximately $15.00.

Fiber Coat™

Fire retardant for synthetic materials. These products will not readily absorb fire retardant, so Fiber Coat acts as a protective layer, inhibiting the propagation of flame along the treated product.

Unlike many other fire retardant coatings on the market, Fiber Coat allows the treated material to preserve most of its original pliability. Apply by spraying, dipping, or painting. Do not dilute or mix with other products. Coverage is approximately 200 square feet per gallon.

Fiber Coat can also be used on sealed natural fiber materials (such as painted wood). Available in quart and gallon containers.

The actual shipping cost will be charged when gallons are purchased in case quantities due to the higher shipping weight. The average cost to ship one case of fluid is approximately $15.00.
